As you can see, the dining-room is still a work in progress, and is currently being used as painting workshop. And there's some painting to do: more than 95m of skirtings, beads and door frames need to be primed and glossed. It apparently is my job. Might take a while ...
Nous avons également reçu notre cheminée, après un certain délais, et nous en sommes tellement content que nous nous sommes pris en photo devant. Je sais, c'est con, mais la cheminée est belle, ça fait un moment qu'on l'attend, et ça change tellement du trou qu'on a depuis un bon mois !
We have also received our fireplace, after quite some delay, and we are so chuffed that we took pictures of ourselves in front of it. I know, it is silly, but the fireplace is lovely, it's been long in coming, and it makes such a change from the hole we've had for a good month !
Mais nous ne nous sommes pas attardés à admirer la cheminée: après la séance photo, nous l'avons emballée, et nous avons attaqué le reste de la pièce. Robin a fait un travail phénoménal, le plafond est peint et il est superbe; la fenêtre est décapée, elle a déjà une sous-couche et les murs ont déjà leur deux couches de blanc. C'est encore loin d'être fini, mais ça commence déjà plus à ressembler à une pièce qu'à un chantier. Robin est super-motivé, et efficace, comme à son habitude. Et moi, si on me donne les trucs à peindre, je ne m'arrête pas !
But we haven't wasted too much time admiring the fireplace: after the photo-shoot, we wrapped it all up, and started on the rest of the room. Robin did an incredible amount of work: the ceiling is done, and beautifully; the window has been scrubbed and primed, and the walls have had their two coats of white. It's still far from finished, but it is starting to look more like a room than a building-site. Robin is really motivated, and efficient as usual. As for me, provide me with the stuff to prime and gloss and I won't stop !
