L'hiver est là /winter time has started

Heu, en fait, pas vraiment, il fait plutôt doux et humide. Mais comme on n'avait pas encore testé la cheminée, et que je tournais en rond autour de Robin hier ("qu'est-ce que je peux faire ?", "je peux aider ?" ... chiante, quoi), il a fini par me dire : "et si tu essayais de faire un feu ?"
Comme il restait un ultime bout de plancher de salle de bains, et plein de chutes de bois de notre bricolage, je me suis mise immédiatement au travail. Voici le résultat !

Well, not really, it's actually mild and wet. But as we still hadn't tested the new fireplace, and since I was pestering Robin yesterday afternooon ("what can I do ?", "can I help ?" ... the usual pain), he eventually said : "why don't you make a fire ?"
As we still had one bit of the bathroom floor, and lots of cuttings from our DIY, I immediately set to work. Here is the result !

Après ça, je suis bien restée 15min assise béate et calme face au feu. Et Robin a eu la paix !
After that, I sat, quiet and content, for a good 15min in front of the fire. And Robin got peace !

Chacun son truc / each to their own thing !

Les travaux avancent, petit à petit, et certaines choses essentielles commencent à être mises en place ... Je ne parle pas de sol, on n'en est pas là. Non, non, je parle de choses capitales : le futur mini-bar (première photo, près de la cheminée) et des étagères pour les livres (deuxième photo). Devinez maintenant qui a dédié patience et attention à la mise en place du premier élément, et qui a amoureusement poncé et peint le deuxième ...

Work is progressing, one step at a time, and some essential features are being put in place ... I am not talking about flooring, we're not quite there yet. No, I am talking about truly indispensable things : the future mini-bar (first picture, next to the fireplace) and the book-shelves (second picture). Now guess who carefully and patiently installed the first feature, and who lovingly sanded and painted the second ...


PS: les photos ont été prises avec mon nouveau joujou, mon appareil photo. Bien sûr, Robin en a changé aussi depuis, et le sien est encore plus cool. Ah, ces bons hommes !
