Moelleux et rebondi / Soft and springy

Et non, je ne parle pas de nos petits bourrelets respectifs après les fêtes, mais bien de notre moquette ! Oui, oui, c'est bien notre escalier, doté d'une belle moquette bien posée (merci Cash Carpet !). C'est doux, moelleux, agréable, propre ... je pense qu'on va très bien s'y habituer !

On aurait bien mis aussi des photos de la cuisine avec son beau sol, mais bien sûr, il n'est pas arrivé (donc pas posé) : ils sont en rupture de stock. Mais bon, on n'est plus à une semaine près, à ce stade, et Robin est en train de tout s'occuper pour la connection d'eau. Qui sait, d'ici peu, on pourra brusquement décider qu'on a envie d'un bain, ou se savonner ET se rincer sous la douche sans avoir un interlude de 5-10min à grelotter entre les deux, en attendant que les voisins aient fini avec leur utilisation de l'eau ... On se prend à rêver !

No, I am not describing our respective flabby bits post-Christmas, but our carpet ! Yes, yes, it IS our staircase, now beautifully fitted with a lovely carpet (thank you Cash Carpet, 49 Commerce Street, Glasgow - as for Mike Veitch !). It's soft, springy, pleasant, clean ... I reckon we'll get used to it pretty fast ! We would have like to also show you the floor in the kitchen but of course, it's not there yet (hence not fitted) : B&Q is out of stock. Anyway, at this stage, one more week isn't a big deal, and Robin is busy in the meantime with the water connection. Who knows ? Maybe we'll soon be able to suddenly decide to have a bath, or to wash AND rinse ourselves while using the shower without the 5-10min shiverring break in between, while the neighbours finish using the water ... We have a dream !

Petit souvenir de Noël ...
Comme chaque année, le clan s'est réuni pour célébrer le passage du vieux barbu au manteau rouge (qui a été très actif et très très gentil cette année encore, merci !!!), et comme chaque année, maman était chic, Robin souriant, Tony endormi. Les 3 Anciens ont fait les couillons et les filles nous ont ramené leurs sympathiques moitiés. Petit collage pour prouver tout ça en photo, et vous souhaiter à tous une excellente année 2009 !

Little Christmas memento ...
As every year, the Clan gathered to celebrate the visit of the old man with a beard and red coat (he's been very busy and very very generous again, than you !!!), and as every year, mum was very elegant, Robin was smiling, and Tony slept. The 3 Oldies Men fooled around, and the girls had come with their lovely better halves. Photos to prove it and wish you a very happy 2009 !

Of bears and frost / Des ours et du givre

Voici quelques photos de nos aventures de Noël, qui nous ont amenées à rencontrer des ours et beaucoup de froid très joli à voir. Fort heureusement, les ours étaient dans un petit zoo sympathique (le zoo du bois de St Pierre, près de Poitiers) et non dans la forêt toute givrée où nous nous sommes promenés, pendant nos quelques jours d'escapade en tribue dans les Highland !

Here are a few pics of our Christmas adventures, which lead us face to face with bears and very pretty frosty landscapes. Fortunately, the bears were in a nice wee zoo (in the St Pierre woods near Poitiers), rather than in the frozen forest were we went walking during our group escape to the Highlands !
