Premiers visiteurs / first guests

Nous avons reçu nos premiers visiteurs, Cyrille et Rose-Hélène. Bien évidemment, nous les avons amenés au pub, où Robin et Cyrille ont sympathisé avec un autochtone.

We have welcomed our first guests, Cyrille and Rose-Hélène. Obviously, we took them to the pub, where Robin and Cyrille befriended a local.

Eh voilà, les vacances sont finies, nos invités sont repartis (sans le cerf) mais on a gardé le soleil. Sérieux. Il fait beau. Vraiment beau !

That's the holidays finished now, our guests have left (without the stag) but we kept the sunshine. No, really. It IS sunny. Really sunny !

Des progrès ! Progress !

On en rêvait depuis des mois, c'est enfin fait: nous avons une pièce complètement finie ! Le bureau, déjà équipé Ikéa, où il ne manque que des étagères et un peu de rangement.

We'd been dreaming about it for months, it's finally done: we have one completed room ! The study, already equiped by Ikea, where we're only missing shelves and a bit of order.

Autre progrès notable: la chambre d'amis. Ces trois photos ont été prises au cours des derniers mois. Pouvez-vous les mettre dans le bon ordre chronologique et repérer les différences ?

Other noticeable progress: the guest bedroom. These three pictures have been taken at different stages during the past couple of months. Can you put them in the correct chronological order, and spot the differences ?

Enfin, passage chez les copains: dans la Sarthe, à Château-du-Loir. Camille, nous avions tort de te taquiner, Château-du-Loir, c'est beau ! Bon, c'est pas grand, mais ... Petit coucou aussi à Jérôme, Delphine et Elina à Hennebont, où la maison du vallon monte à vitesse grand V (voir photo, mais pas de la maison, désolée ...). Puis passage à Nantes, où Cyrille nous a amené voir l'éléphant. Je vous assure, y'a un éléphant en liberté dans Nantes, je ne déconne pas. Et pause gastronomique au retour chez les Roullin: ah, les poissons à la plancha, et le gâteau Elina créé par Alain ! ...

Finally, visits to friends: first Château-du- Loir, in the Sarthe. Camille, we were wrong to tease you, Château-du-Loir is lovely ! It's not very big, but ... Hello too to Jérôme, Delphine and Elina, in Hennebont, where the house of the glenn is progressing fast (see pictures, but not of the house, sorry !). Then through Nantes, where Cyrille took us to see the elephant. Really, there is an elephant at large in Nantes, I am not kidding. And gastronomic stop at the Roullin on the way back: ah, the taste of fish à la plancha, and the Elina cake created by Alain ! ...

Depuis, nous nous sommes remis aux travaux et nous n'avons pas chômé. Quelques images vous montrerons bientôt les progrès: le bureau est peint, décoré et même meublé (merci Papy !). La chambre d'ami attend sa moquette demain, il y a déjà un rideau et bientôt le canapé-lit. Et Cyrille et Rose-Hélène, vous serez certainement heureux d'apprendre qu'il y aura aussi vraisemblablement des portes aux pièces stratégiques !

Since that, we've got back to work on the house, and haven't stopped. A few pictures will soon show you the progress: the study is painted, decorated and even furnished (thanks Papy !). The guest bedroom is expecting to get its carpet tomorrow, it has a curtain and soon a sofa-bed. And, Cyrille and Rose-Hélène, you'll be glad to hear that it is quite probable that there will be doors on strategic rooms !

Et promenade en bord de mer, sous le soleil (oui, c'est juste qu'on a pas pris de photos sous la pluie, mais on était bien en Bretagne, pas de doute !)

Un peu de détente: Robin se met aux vacances à la française, et développe ses talents de joueur de pétanque.
Relaxing a bit: Robin adopts French-style holidays and develops his pétanque skills.


Tellement qu'il se classe 2ième au concours de pétanque du camping avec Papa. Oui, je sais, c'est très franchouillard. Mais ils ont gagné une bouteille de cidre !
So much so that he finishes 2nd at the pétanque competition of the campsite with Dad. All right, it's rather stereotypically French, but they won a bottle of cider !

Et, tradition oblige, les repas grande-tablée, où cette fois on observe la présence de la troisième génération de joyeux campeurs, avec Paul et Camille !

And in keeping with tradition, the large dinner tables, where one will notice the presence of the 3rd generation of happy campers, with Paul and Camille !
