Eh oui, je me suis laissée convaincre ... Elles m'avaient promis les midges, les chiottes "écolo" (euphémisme signifiant TRES basiques et sans chasse d'eau), et la nature, et j'y suis allée. Et j'ai adoré !!! Loch Ossian et son auberge de jeunesse sont à découvrir, vraiment. Les montagnes environnantes sont superbes (ne vous faites cependant pas avoir par le coup du "c'est encore mieux vu d'en haut": je l'ai fait, j'en ai chié, et on était dans le brouillard !), et l'absence de douche est accessoire, vraiment. Y'a l'loch ! Sans rire, rien ne vaut une petite tête dans la (fraiche) eau d'un beau loch pour se décrasser après un corbett (c'est à dire une graaaaande montagne, presque un munro, d'ailleurs).
Et puis l'ambiance à 19 (et quelques bouteilles) dans l'auberge est fantastique ! Je vous laisse découvrir les premières images ...
Well, they did convince me after all ... She promised me midges, "green" toilets (an understatement for VERY basic and flush-free), and nature, and I went. And I loved it !!! Loch Ossian and its youth hostel are truly worth the trip (treck ?). The surrounding hills are beautiful (though don't believe the "it's even nicer from the top, honest": did it, nearly killed me, and at the top ... we were in the fog !), and the lack of shower is not an issue at all. There's the loch ! No, really, nothing beats a wee dip in the -cool- water of a beautiful loch to scrub off the dirt after climbing a corbett (that is a biiiig mountain, nearly a munro, actually, in that case).
And the atmosphere with 19 people (and a few bottles) in the hostel was fab ! I'll let you enjoy the first pics ...
